L1a mtdna sequence

Hello,

I was wondering If anyone has the same African Mtdna haplogroup. My father was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1934 his birth name was Johnnie Lewis Kenneth Marshall his birth mother was Ruby Marshall a domestic, father unknown. He was adopted at the age of 7 by the Lipman family in witcha falls, texas. He was told by his birth family that he was part Native AMerican. We have had his ethnicity tests, Mtdna tests and y-dna tests completed. His Mtdna test came back as L1a or more specificly L1a1a a southeast african haplogroup. I had the tests done thru FTDNA but they know very little of this haplogroup, it is considered the oldest branch. What I have been trying to do is correlate L1a to more specific ethnic groups. So far I have come up with the BAKA people. From what I can tell there are very few L1a individuals in the US. Has anyone out there found African based message boards for DNA discussions, or any links that mention L1a groups. I have also been trying to find a link on the web that shows the specific changes/mutations. My father's are 16111t, 16129a, 16148t, 16168t, 16172c, 16187t, 16188g, 16189c, 16223t, 16230g, 16266t, 16278t, 16293g, 16311c, 16320t he just had the Mtdna refine test completed and those changes are as follows, 93g, 95c, 185a, 189g, 236c, 247a, 263g, 309.1c, 315.1c, 522-, 523-. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. thanks cindy erlinda. celkmarshall@yahoo.com
