My mtDNA is a match to the Fulani (Fulbe) people of northern Cameroon. Therefore, we both have Cameroon links. However, it is very likely that my direct ancestor in my mtDNA lineage was originally from Nigeria. The Fulani of northern Cameroon didn't migrate into northern Cameroon until the early 1800's...from northern Nigeria where they had been for hundreds of years and during the time when the transatlantic slave trade started. But, I would like to visit Cameroon in the near future since my "genetic people" are there now.
