I started with www.nationalgeographic.com/genographic It will cost around $115.00 depending on which state. There is much info there. Its a great place to start. I have been looking studying and contemplating the dna concept for a few years before I indulged. I am happy and thankful for the solid feeling I have knowing the Tribe and country of origin.
When I would share my story of my gggrand mother being born in Guinea with Africans I would meet, they would always say, "just because she was born there doesnt mean she is from there." So you can imagine how excited and happy I was to know that she IS from there.
Le Ballet African was performing at a theater across from my work a few years ago. The performance was wonderful. Going to the web to look them up I found they were from Guinea. I also found that 25% of the population in northern Guinea is Fulani. On goes the search and connections that bring and have brought me closer to my deep ancestry.
If you like you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org I will be more than happy to share more. There is so much it is very exciting!
