Re: Genographic Results
In Response To: Genographic Results ()
Are the 12 loci examined for National Genegraphic the same as a 12 marker test with say Family Tree dna? Yes, in fact Family Tree DNA is the company the project uses for the public test, however the DYS 389 II number for the Genographic project number is different from Family Tree because the family tree number is 389 I and II combined, for example if your DYS 389-1 is 13 389-2 number is 17 for National Genographic if you join family tree the 389-2 will be the combination of 389-1 and 389-2 i.e.(13+17 = 30) for dys 389-2 in family tree. I suggest you join family tree database, also upload your information to y-search.org and join the African project in Family Tree. I am also e3a-M2 and I also had my Y-DNA analyzed by African Ancestry and I share ancestry with the Yoruba people in Nigeria. Welcome to the club.
