Thank you and yes you interpreted correctly! We have always been told my GGGrandmother came to America when she was 2yrs old and that she was born in Guinea, West Africa. Her wish was that someone would return home. I'd always felt it was me!
I was told by a Nigerian, I went to school with in 1985 I look Fulani. Then in 2003 at the African Market Place in Los Angeles (held once a year), there was a woman with a booth from Guinea. I told her the story of my GGGrandmother and her response to me was "We have these people in the area called Fulani of which you look like. My mother is Fulani and my father Mandingo." Then she walked away.
So they were right!
