MAYBE 6 weeks Dad's sample was sent mid-May and I'm at 9 weeks and counting. Message on website indicates there's a problem with sample. I understand that means that NG will have to do a SNP test to refine the haplogroup placement. Probably on Dad's Y-DNA which is definitely Hap I and probably I1c (I2). Just don't count on a quick turnaround.

Family Tree DNA does the testing for NG so an added benefit of doing NG first is that you can have their 12-marker results transferred to FTDNA and pay less to upgrade to 24 or 37 markers if or when the need arises.
