Re: A Genealogy of Humankind
In Response To: A Genealogy of Humankind ()
Finally, the program "The Journey Of Man" was shown on my local PBS station last night. It was mentioned that the DVD of the same title has more footage than was shown on my PBS station, but what I saw was really good information. The DVD is 2 hours long, the TV presentation was about one and a half hours long.
Spencer Wells, the geneticist and main figure of the program was easy to understand, and showed appropriate sensitivity to all of the peoples he encountered during the program (although I did have a problem at times, with his use of the term "tribe"). For me, the program was a little slow at times, but my deep interest in the subject easily held my attention.
I recommend the program to everyone who has pursued this fledgling science, and especially to folks just realizing an interest in Genetic Genealogy.
The program, (I think) helps clear up some of the confusion that I've read here about what exactly this science can and cannot tell one about their ancestry.
