If he is living you can test him, but it needs to be female to female to female from her down to your father in order for you to test his mtDNA and get her lineage. In other words, this GGG-GM needs to be your father's mother's female to female ancestor.

If she is your father's father's ancestor, you will need a female relative to test who is a direct female to female descendant of this GGG-grandmother.
