Which paternal GGG-Grandmother are you interested in? You have 8 of them!! (32 GGG-Grandparents, 16 of whom are paternal, 8 of whom are female) Keep in mind that with the Y-chromosome you are tracing just ONE line of your paternal ancestors, your father, his father, his father, his father, etc. No mothers there and no fathers of the mothers either. Exactly how does your father descend from this GGG-Grandmother? Is your father still living? If he is living you can test him, but it needs to be female to female to female from her down to your father in order for you to test his mtDNA and get her lineage. In other words, this GGG-GM needs to be your father's mother's female to female ancestor. If she is your father's father's ancestor, you will need a female relative to test who is a direct female to female descendant of this GGG-grandmother.
