I don't know what part of Virginia that George West is from, I got that information from the census. Not to my knowledge no one in my family has taken a DNA testing, but I am going to real soon.
George West married a Mary J Unknown in Cadiz Ohio ( I assume that is where they got married since I found them there in the 1860 census).
They had 13 children-

George W West Jr.
John B West
William H. West
Frank West
Lucy West
Nancy West
Maggie West
Sarah West
Alexander West
Thomas West
Rebecca West
Deborah West

I assume George West got his freedom and settle in Ohio, a free state.
