I am testing the daughter of my first cousin on my father's side. My first cousin's mother is my father's sister. She and my father have the same mother. So our grandmother's mtDNA was passed to my aunt, who passed it to my cousin, who passed it to her daughter whom I am testing.

Therefore this gives me my father's mother's line, and her mother's line, and her mother's line, etc., etc. So yes, it gives me the lineage of one of my father's grandmothers.
