Depending on what you've accomplished in your genealogy research, it is possible to pick up more lines and thus get more pieces of that 99%.

I know people to test to get the lineages of my four grandparents. Now I'm starting to look at the descendants of siblings of my grandparents and great-grandparents, those I know. Others I have names of the siblings, but don't know the descendants.

But some of those I know are not male to male descent or not female to female descent so my avenues are limited to find out more of that mysterious 99%.
