Oh Tonya, congratulations on finding your ancestor from Spain! That's awesome. I've always wanted to visit Barcelona. I'm fluent in Spanish and taught Bilingual 2nd grade for a few years. My gggrandfather fue un esclavo de Cuba - was a slave from Cuba, and the language was passed down a little through the generations. My Dad used to teach Spanish, and insisted I minor in Spanish, but I didn't (though I did take 14 hours). But with friends and a couple boyfriends to argue with helping me (hahahaha!!!) I became much more fluent. I've heard Spain is very nice and the people very warm and friendly! You'll love it if you plan to visit!
