Wow, Congratulations Art on your findings! I don't want to diminish the 3% of anything, but when I asked how much of these tests should we really "count" as to who we are, (like for example, DNA Tribes now lists a Top 20, and they also have their Ethnic breakdown by Sub-Saharan African, South Asian, Malay Achipelago, Alaskan, Native American, North Indian, East Asian, Arabian & North AFrican, and European. I have lots of matches with all of the above, but since the African is the highest followed by South Asian and North Indian, then a middle grouping, then the rest is so minimal that yes, it confirms certain ancestry, but I was told that it's so little it's not much. But you're right, I feel we should all (particulary biracial/multiracial individuals) embrace all our heritages. But you and Melvin are right that if you're trying to confirm the ancestry of one of your ancestors, then yes a 3%, heck I guess even a 1% would be an important finding. Unfortunately I can only go back to 4th great grandparents and it's all mulattos which makes tracking beyond them extremely difficult. Then there's those darn Chinese and Indians from India building the railroads too! Hahahha! But anyhoo, congratulations!
