While the "one-drop" rule may hold true socially, for the dna admixture test done by DNAPrint Genomics, etc., tiny percentages of one or the other of the 4 "groups" they use may not show up.
That is what people looking for Native American ancestry sometimes face. In these tests, NA ancestry that is a tiny percentage of the total ancestry just may not be picked up.
Not to forget is that siblings don't necessarily show the same percentages of different ethnicities, unless they are identical twins, etc.
