Re: DNA Tribes New Populations
In Response To: Re: DNA Tribes New Populations ()

I hope this thread is not closed. I have received my results. As an African-American, I too was very interested in getting results back with my West-African ancestry. I know they is plenty of European blood flowing, but the majority still should be West-African, or at least African. Guess what? My major contributor was Turkey, both Native Population and Global! What is going on here! My second Native was Oman, which was also third on my Global! Even my World region was on the Arabian Pennisala, both north and south.

I had NO African selections in my top 20 from Native results. I did have African-American in my global results, but was forth, after Turkey, Brazil (Diaspora) and Oman!

I have two black parents. My mom is light and dad dark. I had a great Afro in the seventies. Even with some mixed blood I still should have shown up with 50% African! Not zero percent!!!

I might even be able to explain this tale if the DNA database had Ethopia in it, since Oman was once an Ethopian colony. But there silly database is lacking Ethopia. How could that be???

And I had no Irish links. I have 2 gg-grandfathers (moms and dads side) who were Irish. One right off the boat! Have a photograph of him with his Black (mixed)son.

I am very discouraged. I had my hopes up and now...

Turkey???!!! Say it aint so...
