Re: African Ancestry Test
In Response To: Re: African Ancestry Test ()

Debra, please let me add another site:

What I do is to google my markers with different words, such as "DNA" "mtDNA" or "Africa. I received other hits concerning L3f1, by using "mtDNA L3f1". Once you find specific data (tribal names, region, etc) you can then do a web search for that also. If you find that you are at a site that has a fee you can many times find the same document online free if you copy the name of the document and search again.

I do not understand all of what I read, however as time goes on I am understanding it more and more. Don't let that stop you from reading the scientific publications. Also keep in mind that you are looking for all of your markers and that some companies have cut off points in the markers they test. Two of my markers are not included in some older population studies, that does not mean that the people may not have possessed those markers.....it means to me that this is not a 100% match until I see all those markers. I do tend to accept the peoples as matches. Hope this helps

Sasa
