I've learned more than I ever thought I wanted to know about the Bantu "dispersals" or "expansions" since I got the test results for my cousin: Ethiopia, Haplogroup L3, subclade L3d.
A 50,000 years ago time frame for the L3 haplogroup; her particular sequence belongs to sub-clade L3d, which is "widespread throughout Africa ... highest frequency in West Africa."
Her haplotype exactly matched some individuals reported in Ethiopia.
Color me confused.
