In Response To: Help with Z/Sellers ....OH/IN/...NC & VA ()
Thanks to all who have responded with so much helpful information, especially my DNA cousins, Lori & Michael.
Our 'current' theory is that Sophia Sellers proven to be the daughter of Adam Sellers and an enslaved woman named Jane/Janey is the 1st cousin of my Sellers/Thomas ancestor fathered by a Sellers male, probably a brother of Adam Sellers.
The family of my father's father (paternal grandfather) remained in the VA/NC area until they migrated to Greencastle, Indiana in the late 1880's. There he met and married my father's mother (paternal grandmother).
Somehow the Thomas/Sellers lines remained in communication between Greencaste, IN and Greenville, OH, now a distance of only 150+ miles. My father born in Greencastle (1894) is living in Greenville by 1915 and registered for the WW I Draft in Greenville.
We're not there yet with our exact relationship to our DNA cousins, but we're getting closer.
