I recently purchased a STR market test from DNA Tribes, and I can't get a clear explanation from Lucas Martin at DNA Tribes regarding my results. I am African American (originally from Louisiana), and I was went to DNA Tribes in hopes that I would learn more about my African ancestry. However, I have more questions than answers at this point.

I am confused by the strong match with Turkey. Does this mean that I have more Turkish ancestry than Ovambo (Bantu)? And who are the Ovambo Bantu? I can't find much information on their participation/role in the slave trade. From looking at this test, I assume that my West African ancestry comes from Angola/Congo, Bantu and Guinea-Bissau/Eq. Guinea (Fang/Bubi people).

Any thoughts?
