Pat A.,

I caught this episode last night on my local PBS affiliate. I thought it was quite interesting. Duplessis is one of those names that you can't grow up in New Orleans without knowing someone with that surname. I thought it was great how the guy with the copy book embraced his heritage as being a descendant of free people of color. I also thought it was great how they explained that Homer Plessy's surname (of Plessy vs. Ferguson fame) was derived from Duplessis.
