Thank you for responding. The AA DeLavallade ancestry I am researching is I believe descendants of women that were enslaved before the Civil War (utl in pre-1870 census) and two of the three DeLavallade emigrants from France.

Wow, tell me more... I was not aware of the DeLavallade name in Plaquemines Parish records; I have located them in Avoyelles, Rapides, and Orleans and in Plaquemine that is the town in Iberville Parish. Do you know which area(s) in Plaquemines Parish I should look at?

Pouponne/Paponne/Pupon Robert/Robertson is the names found in the Diocese of Baton Rogue records as the mother of Lawrence and Sophia Estavan and their siblings.
Beginning with the 1870 census Pouponne is listed as Mary Jackson or Mary P. Jackson married to John H. Jackson. I am not certain but it is believed she was also enslaved before the Civil War (utl pre-1870 census).

As for the Hyde and Isabelle family I am in contact with Lloyd, we have shared quite a bit of information and hopefully we can prove or disprove a family connection besides the cousin notation in the 1910 census between Sam(uel) DeLavallade and Lilly Hyde.
