Help me please. I have just arrived from Jamaica, and was previously in England. I am a teacher / private education consultant within the Equality and Diversity section of education. I link with the Cultural department of education in Jamaica. Story telling has always been one of the ways I communicate with children particularily who have 'switched off' from formal learning in some classroom situations. Ananse and I are the best of friends. We have worked together to 'switch on' some children that the system had given up on. Now I am in the USA I am hearing stories about Brer Rabbit and books being removed from classrooms. What is all this about?
