Many of my grandfather's maternal relatives are buried in the Harrison Chapel Cemetery located in Rosston, Nevada County, AR. I noticed that the grave marker of a WWII veteran Robert McKinney has a military marker with the "star of David".
Robert McKinney and my dad are 2nd cousins, their great grandparents were former slaves Anthony and Ella (Finley) Ellis.
Has anyone else in their research run across a "star of David" on the grave marker of an African American veteran? Could this be a "mistake"?
What is more interesting is that the DNA for this branch of the family does show Jewish Ancestry--however no evidence of the cultural traditions passed on--and was a total surprise when we received the results.
