I am looking for information about this black community, the cemetery and information about the undertaker around the year 1944.
Information from a gruncles death certificate says Tommie White, was killed, Homicide. I am hoping to get some history about the life of the people who lived in this area and maybe find out what might have happened during this time period. I know he was buried in New Park Cemetery, the undertaker was S ? Quarles at 479 Vance.Tommie was buried May 5 1944. I googled the cemetery and got the aerial view, but could find nothing past or present about the community. Other information says he was killed on Nonconnah Rd. At the time of his death he was a Railroad employee. So can anyone tell me something about the cemetery and or area past and present?
