Greetings All, thanks to your wonderful outpourings of concern the Sumter County Cemetery will be preserved, RESTORED, and there will be a community research project to learn who is buried there! As a community of genealogists, historians and concerned caring people we have united and WON this battle. Thanks to all of you who wrote letters, forwarded information and posted on websites. I am so happy and proud of us I could bust!
The fabulous thing is that we can do this again where and when needed. It is our history and our ancestors that we owe the debt of preserving their legacies and sacred places. Many, many thanks.
