Re: Washington Park Cemetery-St.Louis

I am not Ms Lenora but I can suggest you start with the St Louis Genealogical Society or the St Louis County Library Special Collections
Library 314 994-3300 ext 230 fax. 314 994 3300 ext 279 I would have given the email adress, but it doesn't seem to be the correct one. The genealogical society did the work to have Washington Park names placed on a CD. There's also a book in the library with these LOST NAMES. That's how I found my grgrandmother Lucy Vance. At this writing more graves are being relocated so the airport can expand. Mind you the cemetary research is not totally complete. There are many graves unnamed and not found. This was a large Potter's Field for the poor. I know there are other of my family members buried there because I purchased death certificates, but that's all I can find and I pass by there quite often. There is no office to go to. The city and county took over the area. Remains have been relocated to cemetaries all over the city and county. In my grgrandmother's case, she was reburied in Calvary Cemetary along with many other's. They all have a gravestone, whether a name was known or not. Those without names have the number engraved on it. It's a lot better than what family could have done. It is worth looking into. Messages In This Thread
