In Response To: Research Update: Mt Auburn Cemetery, Baltimore MD/History ()
My name is Chantele Beads and I currently have family from the Westport/Cherry Hill area. As a result, many of my family members are buried at Mount Auburn Cemetary. In 2000, I visited the cemetary with hopes of re-visting my loved ones and was very upset when I could not find their gravesite and/or tombstones. This cemetary has legends buried in it and we as black people should stand up and voice our dissatifaction with the upkeep of the grounds. I am more than willing to volunteer my services to assist in cleaning up the grounds. Maybe we could organize a group/committee to get the ball rolling. However, I do understand that since this is a Historic location, there are certain policy and procedures that needs to be adhered to. If there's anyone interested in joining, please send me an email at chantelebeads3@aol.com. LET'S REMEMBER OUR LEGENDS...
