I am researching my family tree for a book that I am writing about the Barrett family in Jamaica. I am looking for information about my great-grandfather who was an indentured worker from India. We only know that he was an Indian man who was known by the name "Chicken Barrett". We think that his original last name could have been Baraichi. He had a son called Edward (my grandfather). Edward Barrett had seventeen (17) children. he had nine children with Fanny and eight children with Sarah Todd (my grandmother). My father Levi Barrett is one of Edward and Sarah's sons. The family originated from St Elizabeth in Jamaica and then went to live in St Catherine, Jamaica. I would be grateful to hear from anyone with information about possible family members and especially grateful to hear from anyone with information about Chicken Barrett my great-grandfather.
