[CARIB] Barnes & Challenger surnames in St. Kitts
Hello!
I'm trying to research the families of my great-great grandparents John Henry Thomas Challenger and Susanna Jane Barnes. Susanna was from Saddlers village and was born around 1846. She left St. Kitts and went to St. Croix around 1903. John, I assume stayed in St. Kitts because he did not go with her. I don't know where John or when John was born, but their marriage certificate says he was a widow. They were married in 1883 in the Bethel Moravian Chapel in Parsons, St. John Capisterre. They had 8 children - Daniel, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Mary Mulvina, Ellen, Ethel Evangeline (my great-grandmother), Ann and Edith Maude - all born in St. Kitts. I know for a fact that all of the female children went to St. Croix with their mother, but I don't have any census records of Daniel being there. He might have stayed in St. Kitts as well.
Do any of these names sound familiar to anyone? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
