For five centuries, Africans of the Americas cris-crossed the Caribbean either as slaves or free women and men. People on both sides of the Gulf may share many common ancestors. Afro-Caribbeans were not only from the islands but also from the towns and cities that hugged the coast of the Floridas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Texas. I'm searching for ancestors who lived in Cuba and Haiti and Santo Domingo.
