I am trying to find out whether my great,great grandfather was a slave. He had to be since my great grandfather was born in 1873. In fact, both my greatgrandfathers were born in that year or close to it. My maternal great, great grandfather's name was sylvestre Febres, and my Paternal was Silvano Indio Rosa. My maternal for sure was Black, but my paternal was mulato or closer to a brown complexion. My maternal great great grandfather was born in Carolina or Loiza and my paternal was born in Luquillo, not far apart. I would really like to know the slave history of both fathers. How can I go about doing so.
