I am traveling to Jamaica and would like to look up family records, etc. I contacted the Registrar General's Department and was sent to a website listing locations, services and fees, etc. for genealogical research. However, with all that being said, I'd appreciate some advice or guidance from someone who has already done research in Jamaica. What is the best way for me to approach this? How much should I expect to spend (a minimum)? And so on...

By the way, I just went through the entire thread on the RGD and I am SO glad I had the sense to seek out opinions before sending any money or wasting any time there. In what other ways may I get my research done?
