Thank you very much for writing us.As you know I have been writing your father since June 2004 when I began a search for the Ellis family. I began this journey when I received a family tree from a cousin ,Henri Atjak, on a visit to Paramaribo, Suriname in February, 2004.He is related to the original 9 children of the Ellis couple, Horatio and Justina .Unfortunately, Henri was murdered about six months ago by a homeless man outside of his home in Surinam.
You resemble (from your website)a few of my first cousins who are the children of my aunt Irene the daughter of Henrietta Favrierwho is the daughter of Gertruida Victoria Ortensia Ellis and Betsy's sister, my mom, who died in January at 97 years of age.
I am an educator,former college professor and administrator who now directs training and communications programs for various not for profit groups.I am now directly working with the Salvation Army of Greater New York.I am married for 37 years(to the same woman, by the way)and have two children.
