Interestingly enough Jules asked me to get more information on a Jan Ellis possibly the progenitor of the family who appears to have been a merchant in New Amsterdam in 1640.
In any event , I am very happy to be corresponding with you .
By the way, my mother who was the great granddaughter of Justina Ellis just died two months ago. She was 97 years of age . Until the week of her death she was still in contact with the folks in Holland .
