Re: Race/color in 1930 census Puerto Rico
In Response To: Race/color in 1930 census Puerto Rico ()
I don't dissagree with any of that about having "blacks" or "negros'" "pardos" "mulatos" .....the census is clear on the racial differences, unlike the U.S.A. keeping its head in the sand by keeping everyone only as Black or White. But what I like to bring up has always been the contrary in my experiance that ALL PUERTO RICANS are BLACK. And that's just NOT so. My families from Utuado me and certain cousins have been doing extensive research and find that we are all white and we should as all Puerto Ricans who are white be proud of that too. Just as Afro-Ricans are proud. Why is it always "racist" to admit that there are whites too? After all these are the facts. Not Myths like good ol' balck and white USA.
