Re: Black-Mexico and Black-Mexicans

The only problem that I have about this subject is that I feel not enough is said about the Africans in Mexico before Colombus. At first , I hard time believing that this would be possible , because the idea of Africans in boats , other than a slave ship confused me. Further study lead me to find out about archives in European as well as Latin American countries , that have documentation of this fact. Yes , I did say fact. To anyone interested about this topic there are a number of books out there but one I would recomend as an intro to this subject would be ,
"They Came Before Colombus" or also called "The African Presence in early America".
If the idea of Africans on ships as mariners is as hard for you , as it was for me to grasp , look into the history of the Caribean pirates or Pirates of the Caribean. Many pirates were of african origin. Either escaped slaves , freed slaves who couldn't make a living , or people who just didn't like the idea of Whites with there boats , living at the top of the social order , making money while Native Americans & Africans...You get the point.
