Re: [PUERTO RICO] Gomez geneology San Juan Puerto Rico

i have the 1910 census record and looking at it this is where my problem began many years ago, because daisy and the rest of her family did not come to america with their real names, they changed it. all the persons in the 1910 record entered in america with another name. further research i found her name to be called daisy and one of her surnames as gomez. on ship records her name is celestina gomez born may 19, 1888. thus, when you told me about the 1899-1900 puerto rican census, this was a crucial peace of information, because if she is on it i can see who is living in the household with her or if she is under daisy or celestina or if daisy is a nickname for delores. this is why you were God sent when you told me about that information. Since i have her year of birth i have to investigate to see if i can obtain her may 19. 1888 birth record, she was born in san juan, must have been old san juan since the year is so old 1888. This birth record would have her mother and fathers name. Once i can get the mother and fathers name, then i can research the puerto rican census for the family under jefe(head of household) under her mothers name or fathers name. My goal is to find the gomez family of my great great grandmother celestina (or daisy or delores)gomez. Since puerto rico was a spanish colony i might have to fly to spain, because the birth records might have been shipped there. I have to investigate this. in 1917 she came back to america as celestina gomez, evidently she had to prove she was a puerto rican, because puerto rico became part of the united states. Thus the 1910 census is not her real name, so its not going to help me, because those names are false. by, the way did you attend the puerto rican day parade? i missed it. wishing you a happy puerto rican day! to you and your family. there is a puerto rican website called jibaro at www.jibaro.com thanks for helping me and God Bless!
