Greetings Caribbean Researchers:

The Miami Herald has published a series on Afro-Latin Americans, entitled "Rising Voices".

The first two parts have been published so far which includes:

Civil rights movement in Nicaragua and Honduras

Racial denial of African heritage by Dominicans.

Both parts are thought provoking. However, Part 2's argument spends too much time on Dominicans and hair straightening as an example of their African denial, which trivializes them as a people.
