Hi there in Virginia- I have just come back from Barbados and had a chance to Visit the Archives in Black Rock St James,a fantastic place. I have discovered that my Grandfather was born in St John, Ashford Barbados in August 1889, but he remained in Barbados, unless your Grandfather is one of my Grandfather's brothers, which is a possibility.
His mother's maiden name was Enniss(not spelt how I thought in my orginal posting) - prehaps if you can find out that info we maybe able to get abit further - hope to hear from you soon.
