Hello Caribbean ancestored researchers,

My grandfather, William Wallace Gittens, was born in 1880. He migrated to the United States in 1904 to attend college. I don't know exactly where in Barbados he came from or what his father's name was. His mother's name was Elizabeth (Wallace??) Gittens. Some of Grandpa's younger siblings who also migrated to the States were Charles Gittens, Duncan Gittens, Clarice Gittens (?), Millie Gittens (?), and Edith Gittens Harris.

I have viewed the Ellis Island ship manifest and the Washington, D.C. newspaper article reporting his 1911 graduation from Howard University medical school, as well as the 1920 and 1930 Census records of his whereabouts.
