Re: GARVIN from Bahamas to Florida
In Response To: GARVIN from Bahamas to Florida ()

Hello Theresa:

I recently did a search for a friend whose ancestors like yours came to Florida from the Bahamas. The LDS 1880 uncovered several possible ancestors. I fiddled around with various "places of birth" sometimes leaving it out or using the Bahamas as the the place of birth.

Guess what? On my first pass I found a Thomas Garvin born 1852. If you haven't used the 1880 census search, the url is below:

3. Ida B. GARVIN - 1880 United States Census / Florida

I hope this helps.
