My ex-fiance's name is Raphael Licorish. He is from the island of Grenada. While doing research on my own family name, I decided to stray and see what I could find out about his family name.

I always thought that it was an English name and as a result his family would have come from Barbados. In Grenada, there are at least two sets of families which carry that surname. I believe both are related and lost touch with each other by internal migration through different parishes over the last century.
