Reverand J.J. Walters, in the 1910 census for Broome County, Binghamton city, New York ED #13, is a lodger in my great grand aunt Emma Melville's house.

He's 58 years old and a widower.

Place of birth: Mex. Spanish
POB father: Mex. Spanish
POB mother: Mex. Spanish
Trade or Profession: Clergyman/Pastor

His photo was in my father's possession.
The back of the photo says:
Bishop Walters
1st Black Bishop of [Iowa] Methodist

I haven't done any serious research on him, but I thought his Mexican/Spanish heritage would be of interest.
