Re: New Discoveries on Familysearch - Thank You
In Response To: Re: New Discoveries on Familysearch - Thank You
(Art Thomas) Thank you our friend for always being there to point us toward the resources. Last night I found yet more Gems at familysearch. I did a search of all of the 10 children of my g g grandmother, ELIZABETH CHINN.
Up comes a Belle Chinn's Marriage data to a Frank REDMAN. I was so shocked because she is listed in later records as living in Pittsburgh with her daughter -- last name of daughter,REDMAN. I never knew who the father could have been. Then I found my Hester Lloyd CHINN from VA who married William Chinn Jr living in DC. The document was her Burial Record, Marriage Status "Windowed." Until that find, I thought they had divorced because the Screen listed her father as the reporting party. One point I learned, PRINT out the record don't just read what's on the computer screen. Ancestry is the key that opens many doors, it's the best! I love it but with my ADHD, I'm scrolling through so much information and no matter how I try, I will get names that are not hardly the names/locations I entered. In the past I would use familysearch for the 1880 census because it is clearly stated. Now I can quickly find NEW GEMS narrowed down and clearly stated. Happy Searching Everyone,
