The Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS) has issued a Call for Papers for an upcoming workshop to be held in Toronto on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the North York Central Library Auditorium, 5120 Yonge Street.

The day-long workshop title is: THE WOMEN IN OUR PAST: STRATEGIES AND RESOURCES FOR RESEARCHING FEMALE ANCESTORS.

They are looking for proposals for presentations, and possible topics include:
- The legal and political framework of women's lives
- Women's occupation
- Women and war
- Women's involvement in religious and charitable organizations
- Specific countries or ethnic groups
- DNA and maternal ancestry research
- Artifacts as women's record sources
- Pioneer women
- Unusual sources for women's records
- Case studies

Each session is one-hour long, including five or 10 minutes for questions. They will provide a digital projector (but you need to bring your own computer). Speakers will be expected to provide a handout of supporting material (up to four pages), and will be paid $100 honorarium (Canadian dollars) per one our lecture, plus modest expenses.
