Knowledge Ontario is in the process of digitizing entire runs of extant newspapers. The project, "Our Ontario Newspaper Project" has papers from various parts of Ontario, including the two black newspapers, The Provincial Freedman and Voice of the Fugitive.

Their latest addition, the Essex Free Press, can be viewed online, for free, using any browser. As you know, Essex County houses Windsor, which is directly across the river from Detroit, and where a large number of blacks lived before and after slavery was abolished in Canada.
