The Loss of PaperOfRecord.com a Tough Blow
Geez ... PaperOfRecord.com was one of my FAVORITE sites for researching early Canadian newspapers. They had hundreds of them, complete with digital images, in an easily searchable forum. ... until Google bought them out, took down the Web site and now has removed all the data from public access. Libraries, historians, students, genealogists are outraged at what Google has done, and their "official response," is just a bunch of mish-mash. PaperOfRecord was free and had been around for many years. I'm so sorry to see it gone. Here's Google's response:

But just try finding something using their (Gawd-awful) search engine. Time for me to find another favorite search engine. I'm sick of Google. - Lisa
