Champlain Society - Digital Collection (FREE)
![]() For more than 100 years, The Champlain Society has increased public access to Canada's rich documentary heritage. Through their collection you can explore four centuries of adventure, travel, social change, economic growth, and nation building through the Society's books and on-line Digital Collection. The Digital Collection is free, quite easy to use, and contains a wealth of Canadian historical information not found online anywhere else. Do a search for "slavery," "negro," or for a specific ancestor (use the "exact term" option for this) and it will take you to the exact page where the term is found. You can print out the page as is (with full headers, date, etc.), or convert it to a PDF and print out a specific page. The quality of these images is SUPERB. This free collection should be a part of any good genealogists arsenal. Good luck in your research. - Lisa B. Lee
