The Archives of Ontario, located in downtown Toronto, will be moving to a new public service facility located 20 miles North on York University’s Keele campus in April 2009. The environmentally friendly, state-of-the-art building will help the province preserve its heritage for future generations. The Archives’ new home is purpose-built, which will mean several key improvements to our services, as well as increased access for our customers.
These improved services include a much larger reading room, the addition of several audio-visual booths, and more computer stations and microfilm readers for researchers. There is also a classroom for public programming and an exhibit space for public viewing of original documents.
Located at 4700 Keele Street in Toronto, the facility is easily accessible by public transportation, with several transit companies operating through the York University campus, including express services.
