Thank you very much for your reply. I have found a lot of information on my great grandparents, John Henry Carter and Marguerite (Margaret) Turner in Nova Scotia. There are several people that I want to learn more about and was hoping that you may be able to help me, before I list all of what I have found on the Turners and Carters, thus far. The information that I have posted below are from the 1881 Canadian Census, which is from www.familysearch.org
Samuel Turner Sen., age 55 is my great great grandfater, Margaret Turner is my great grandmother, age 13, which I have a copy of her death certificate from Boston, MA, which lists Samuel as her father. Her birth place and birth date supports this. Now, I have several questions:

Jacob Turner is listed as the head of household in the second family listed below. Is he a brother of Samuel Turner SEN.

Samuel Turner SEN was living in Preston, Halifax and Jacob Tuner was living in Barrington, Shelburne

There is an elderly lady Sarah Thompson, 95 years old, living with Jacob Turner. Was she Jacob Turner and Samuel Turner's mother.

There is a Samuel JR., born in the USA, listed in the third family, was this a son or brother or any relationship to Samuel, whom was born in Nova Scotia.

Who was Sarah Thompson, was she married a second, third time, due to the Thompson name. I had located a Sarah Middleton, married to John Turner on November 22, 1814, Halifax, Nova Scotia. I located this information on the Nova Scotia Vital Records. Were these people black and could this have been Sarah Thompson. I am somewhat confused. I have found the Carters and have traced them to the USA, which I am still researching, But, have not been able to trace the Turners, I have found land grants, etc., which appear to be at the locations that the Carter's were living and are still living in the Canadian 1881 Census listed below, with the exception of Jacob Turner. Any and all information that you may share with me will be greatly appreciated. I believe I am that close to confirming that my family were Black Loyalists, but as always, we have to climb hurdles to get over the brick wall.
